Hallowell Area Board of Trade (HABOT) Membership
Any business, organization or person may become a member upon payment of annual dues without regard to race, creed, age, color, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
All members may attend, speak, and vote at all membership meetings of HABOT, including but not limited to the HABOT Annual Meeting, and may attend and speak at any meeting of the HABOT Board of Directors.
Annual fees to be paid by each member will be determined by the Board of Directors and approved by the members at the Annual Meeting and will remain in affect until altered. The Annual Fee is currently set at $100.00.
Members may terminate their membership upon written notice to HABOT or for non-payment of dues. The business year of the organization is October through September. Dues are due October 31 of each year.
2027 Membership Drive
HABOT is currently seeking members for the October 2026 - September 2027 business year.
There is no denying that, other than the two ArtWalks in June and September, the Hallowell Area Board of Trade was largely inactive in 2026. This was the result of the departure of several key officers and the inability to replace them. It should be noted that in these circumstances we did not invoice members for dues as an act of good faith.
At this point, we are seeking to rebuild the membership so that we can elect a new slate of officers at our Annual Meeting in the beginning of 2027. Of course, we are also actively seeking candidates for Officers and Members of the Board, but rebuilding the membership is a necessary first step.
