An offshoot of the annual Central Maine Idol competition, Maine Teen Idol is designed for teenagers (aged 13-17) to showcase their singing and performance skills on stage as they compete for a $5,000 scholarship.

2nd Annual Hallowell Backyard Games at The Res
Hallowell Backyard Games 2025 will be a lively community event celebrating traditional strength and athletic competitions.
Scheduled for Saturday, October 4, at The Res in Hallowell on the softball field, the games invite participants and spectators to enjoy a fun-filled day of contests inspired by Scottish Highland traditions.
The event is free to attend and includes a Juniors Class for ages 12 to 17, giving younger participants the chance to test their skills and join in the excitement.
To add to the festivities, the Wander Pizza food truck will be on-site, serving delicious food throughout the day.
Hosted by the Hallowell Heavies, the event emphasizes community spirit, cultural celebration, and family-friendly fun in a welcoming outdoor setting.
All 9 Scottish Heavy Athletics events will be contested across several classes including Men's Amateur, Women's Amateur, Men's Masters, and Women's Masters.
This will be a free event for the public.
